Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Food service experience required
- Ability to carry or lift items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to move about kitchen and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, kneeling
- Valid alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or health/food handler card as required by local or state regulations
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic math skills
- Ability to read and write for order taking and documentation
Job Qualifications

- Food service experience with knowledge of restaurant operations

- Experience with cash handling and guest payment transactions
Job Duties
- Complete guest payment transactions as outlined in cash and charge procedures
- Document legibly the guest’s order information on guest checks
- Answer room service phones and record orders
- Utilize up-selling techniques to increase sales
- Promote teamwork and quality service through communication and coordination with other departments
- Coordinate VIP amenity deliveries with appropriate departments
- Alert Management of any service and/or safety issues
- Make appropriate service recovery gestures to ensure guest satisfaction
- Deliver and serve food and beverages to guest rooms
- Set up and serve orders in guest’s room according to standards
- Describe menu items, methods of preparation, and prices
- Work to accommodate guest’s special food requests
- Deliver and retrieve room service trays
- Prepare room service trays according to company specifications
- Re-stock minibar throughout the shift
- Ensure timely handling of HOT SOS requests
- Perform set-up and closing side-work
- Stock service station
- Make coffee
- Prepare utensils
- Assist with prep work for amenities
- Deliver and retrieve amenities
- Pick up trays from landing and guest floors
- Polish glassware
- Refill coffee and iced tea throughout the day
- Utilize tablets for re-stocking minibars and ambient cubes
- Retrieve trays from guest rooms and hallways within prescribed time
- Assist with other duties as assigned
