The role of In-Room Dining (IRD) Server / Order Taker at Pacific Hospitality Group is integral to delivering a seamless and impressive dining experience for hotel guests. This position is responsible for acting as the first point of contact for all in-room dining needs and ensures that every interaction reflects the highest standards of professionalism and hospitality. The IRD Server/Order Taker must accurately take and input food and beverage orders, coordinate with kitchen and service teams, and ensure timely and precise delivery to guest rooms. Additionally, this role requires excellent communication skills, knowledge of menu items and specials, and the ability to anticipate and meet guest preferences and dietary needs. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous hospitality restaurant hotel or customer service experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal communication and telephone etiquette skills
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer and POS system proficiency
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings weekends and holidays
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to push and maneuver room service carts
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
  • Frequent bending reaching and carrying of food and beverage items
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Answer in-room dining calls promptly professionally and courteously
  • Accurately enter guest orders into the point-of-sale system
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of menu items ingredients preparation methods and daily specials
  • Suggestive sell menu items beverages desserts and promotional offerings to enhance the guest experience
  • Confirm order details delivery times and guest preferences
  • Communicate special requests dietary restrictions and allergy information to the kitchen and service team
  • Prepare trays carts condiments and service items according to established standards
  • Deliver food and beverages to guest rooms in a timely and professional manner
  • Set up and present orders according to hotel service standards
  • Verify order accuracy and guest satisfaction upon delivery
  • Retrieve trays carts and service equipment from guest floors promptly
  • Handle guest concerns and service recovery situations professionally
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the IRD station service areas and equipment
  • Ensure proper handling of food and beverages in compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Process guest charges accurately and follow cash handling procedures when applicable
  • Assist with inventory stocking supplies and maintaining par levels
  • Support restaurant and banquet operations as needed
  • Complete opening closing and side work duties as assigned
