Job Description

W Philadelphia, located at 1439 Chestnut St, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is part of the esteemed W Hotels brand under Marriott International. W Hotels are renowned globally for redefining luxury standards and delivering a unique hospitality experience. This location embodies the W Hotels spirit of innovation, energy, and passion for exceptional guest service. As part of Marriott International, W Philadelphia upholds a strong commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity, creating a welcoming work environment that values the unique backgrounds and talents of its associates.

The role being offered is a full-time, non-management position in the Food and Beverage & Culinary category. This position is focused on guest service excellence, designed not merely to serve food but to create memorable and unique experiences for guests. Candidates will take initiative in delivering a wide range of services that elevate the overall guest experience, from setting tables and coordinating with kitchen staff to interacting with and serving guests, as well as maintaining the cleanliness and organization of work and storage areas. This role demands high standards of quality, professionalism in appearance and communication, and a proactive approach to service.

The job environment expects associates to be physically active, engaging in standing, walking, and moving for extended periods, sometimes on uneven or slippery surfaces. Responsibilities may include moving objects weighing less than 50 pounds independently and performing movements that require bending, reaching, twisting, and crouching. The ability to adeptly handle these physical demands while maintaining a welcoming demeanor is essential.

W Hotels embrace a culture known as "Whatever/Whenever" service — a philosophy aimed at fulfilling guest desires spontaneously and thoroughly. Employees in this position will contribute directly to this culture, becoming an integral part of a team that celebrates individuality, innovation, and future possibilities. This role provides a platform to work within an incredible global team, contribute to a dynamic hospitality brand, and develop professionally by becoming the best version of oneself.

The ideal candidate is someone with a high school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certification and less than one year of related work experience. No supervisory experience or special licenses and certifications are required. The focus is on offering a safe workplace, following company procedures carefully, maintaining quality standards, and presenting oneself professionally. Marriott and W Hotels are dedicated to providing equal employment opportunities and ensuring a supportive and accessible workplace for all employees, regardless of disability, veteran status, or other protected characteristics.

Joining W Philadelphia means joining a vibrant community that seeks to awaken curiosity, expand horizons, and create spaces where guests can enjoy life to the fullest. This role offers the chance to be part of a global hospitality leader, delivering exceptional experiences while growing personally and professionally in a supportive and inclusive environment.
