The Room Service Order Taker role at The Ritz-Carlton South Beach is a full-time, non-management position offering an hourly wage of $18.50, with eligibility for tips. This role is essential in the smooth operation of the hotel's food and beverage department, acting as the direct link between guests and kitchen staff. The primary responsibility involves expertly taking room service orders over the phone, addressing guest inquiries regarding the menu and wines, and ensuring that all dietary needs and special requests are communicated accurately to the culinary team.
In addition to order management, the position requires maintaining cleanliness in the work area, processing payments using the MICROS system, and completing all necessary closing reports. Job Duties
- Take room service orders over the phone
- answer questions on menu selections and check with kitchen staff
- answer guest questions or concerns regarding wines
- place and log callback for room service orders
- notify guests and management of delays in service delivery
- communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen
- maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day
- record transactions in MICROS system at time of order
- complete all closing reports including MICROS reports
- process all payment methods
- follow all company and safety policies and procedures
- report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager
- complete safety training and certifications
- maintain clean and professional uniform and personal appearance
- maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
- protect company assets
- welcome and acknowledge all guests
- anticipate and address guests' service needs
- assist individuals with disabilities
- speak clearly and professionally
- answer telephones using appropriate etiquette
