Situated in a vibrant area that attracts both leisure and business travelers, the hotel offers a welcoming ambiance paired with modern amenities, making it a preferred destination for guests looking for comfort and convenience.
The In-Room Dining Cashier position is a pivotal role within the hotel's food and beverage department, designed to enhance the overall guest experience. This role involves interacting directly with guests over the phone, ensuring that their dining orders are accurately captured and efficiently processed. The cashier must possess an in-depth knowledge of the menu items, including preparation methods and pricing details, to effectively communicate and upsell indulgent food and beverage options, thereby maximizing revenue while delighting guests.
Working closely with kitchen staff and delivery personnel, the In-Room Dining Cashier coordinates the timely delivery of orders, ensuring that guests receive their meals to the highest standards promptly. This role demands a keen attention to detail to manage special dietary requests and order accuracy, as well as adeptness with POS (Point of Sale) systems for order entry and transaction processing.
Beyond transactional duties, the In-Room Dining Cashier plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of workstation areas, adhering strictly to hotel safety protocols, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with hazardous materials (HAZMAT) guidelines. The cashier must be vigilant in reporting any unsafe conditions or accidents to management to foster a safe and secure work environment.
The ideal candidate will bring prior cashier or hospitality experience, a working understanding of food and beverage service standards, and familiarity with various beverage offerings such as wine, beer, and liquor. The ability to communicate effectively, multitask, and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment is essential. They should also demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle guest concerns tactfully while preserving confidentiality.
This employment opportunity requires flexibility in scheduling, including availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, and alternate shifts, to meet the fluctuating business needs. Physical capabilities such as standing and walking for extended periods, lifting moderate weights, and working in diverse environments ranging from kitchen areas to guest rooms are necessary.
Certifications are mandatory for this role, including TIPS alcohol awareness certification upon employment, a valid Food Handler Card or the capacity to obtain one within 30 days, and compliance with relevant alcohol and health regulations. Additionally, a clean driving record and valid driver’s license may be required for driving golf carts related to deliveries.
Overall, this role is crucial in delivering a seamless in-room dining experience that upholds the hotel's reputation for quality service and guest satisfaction. By combining excellent communication skills, operational proficiency, and a genuine focus on guest care, the In-Room Dining Cashier contributes significantly to the hotel's mission of providing exemplary hospitality services.
