Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Minimum three years of experience in Food & Beverage in a luxury or ultra-luxury resort or hotel
- Previous supervisor or management experience preferred
- Minimum of 21 years of age to serve alcohol
- TIPS and Food handling certification preferred
- Ability to exert physical effort lifting up to 30 pounds
- Ability to endure physical movements throughout work areas
- Ability to walk, stand, crouch or run on narrow, slippery or erratically moving surfaces
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
- Knowledge of beverage offerings including wine, spirits and cocktails
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information
- Must be well-groomed
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests and coworkers
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Minimum three years of Food & Beverage experience in a similar position in a luxury or ultra-luxury resort or hotel
- Previous supervisor or management experience preferred
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age to serve alcohol
- TIPS and Food handling certification preferred
- Professional, positive image with strong leadership skills
- Knowledge of purchasing, storage, rotation and training of beverage offerings
- Extensive knowledge of wine, spirits, mineral waters, soft drinks and cocktails
- Ability to understand guest service needs
- Ability to suggestively sell menu items, beverages and wines
- Ability to input information into P.O.S. system
- Ability to maintain good coordination and timing while serving
- Ability to exert physical effort in transporting food and beverage items
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
Job Duties
- Create and update team schedules, payroll and other employee documents
- Responsible for managing the performance of the department staff
- Supervise others and take food and beverage orders, retrieve and serve alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages and food orders to guest rooms according to hotel specifications, courteously and efficiently
- Create a memorable culinary experience for our guests in the privacy of their room
- Provide coverage for overnight shifts including order taking, meal delivery, prepping items for upcoming shifts, mise en place, cleaning and maintaining a neat and tidy working environment
- Maintain discretion, respect and decorum when entering guest rooms
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards
- Ensure standards are maintained at a superior level daily
- Review the work of associates to ensure procedures and policies are followed
- Inspect coffee, tea, water machines for cleanliness and content
- Supervise In-Room Dining areas for cleanliness and proper setup
- Control removal of trays and trolleys from guestrooms and corridors
- Check accuracy and quality of orders before delivery
- Introduce, visit and supervise service at VIP guestrooms
- Coordinate with Front Office and Housekeeping on room amenities and delivery times
- Ensure proper hygiene of service areas and good condition of furniture and equipment
- Communicate efficiently with kitchen team and other internal departments
- Prepare and conduct training programs for associates and evaluate staff performance
- Check on personal appearance of In-Room Dining associates
- Hold regular meetings to discuss service and improvement opportunities
- Attend mandatory Food & Beverage meetings
- Participate in In-Room Dining interview process
- Take proper disciplinary action and reward outstanding staff
- Complete logbook for Director of Food and Beverage
- Prepare all Service Menu
- Organize and handle special events in rooms and apartments
- Communicate all operational and guest service issues to the In-Room Dining Manager
- Perform all other duties as required
