Job Duties
- Prepare a variety of foods such as meats, soups, vegetables, breads, salads, desserts and casseroles
- Calculate quantities of ingredients to yield desired quantity and quality of food
- Prepare special diet foods following dietitian's menu orders based on doctor's orders
- Perform a variety of clean-up and sanitation duties such as washing walls, mopping floors, washing pots and pans and cleaning ovens, grills, carts, appliances and tables
- Store and retrieve food from freezers and refrigerators and maintain inventory of foods
- Requisition and receive supplies periodically
- Check freezer and refrigerator temperatures to determine that food is stored at proper temperatures
