Job Description

Heart to Heart is a dedicated caregiving organization committed to improving the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities by providing compassionate, reliable, and personalized in-home support services. Established with a mission to enhance independence and quality of life, Heart to Heart emphasizes creating a nurturing and respectful environment tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. This organization prides itself on its inclusive approach, ensuring that caregivers are not only professionally skilled but also empathetic and attentive to the emotional and physical well-being of those they serve. By fostering a community-oriented culture, Heart to Heart encourages its staff to build meaningful relationships with clients, helping to promote their dignity and self-sufficiency in daily living activities. Operating primarily within the state of New Jersey, the organization values diversity and equal opportunity, welcoming applicants from all backgrounds to join their team. Heart to Heart offers a supportive work environment, recognizing the vital role caregivers play in the lives of individuals requiring assistance and prioritizing safety, respect, and communication in all interactions.\n\nThe in-home caregiver role at Heart to Heart involves providing personalized support to an individual with developmental disabilities who requires assistance mainly with morning activities of daily living (ADLs) before participating in scheduled medical procedures. This position is scheduled from Monday to Wednesday, between 9:00 AM and 1:30 PM, with a pay rate of $22.00 per hour. The ideal caregiver for this role is reliable, attentive, and empathetic, ensuring that the client receives consistent reminders and gentle prompts to eat, shower, change clothes, and engage in other necessary personal care activities. The client, although largely independent, benefits greatly from verbal cues and physical assistance to maintain their routine effectively and safely. The caregiver will also play a crucial role in helping the client transfer safely into a medical van each morning, ensuring timely arrival at medical appointments. Due to the community engagement aspect of this role, having a reliable vehicle and valid driver's license is mandatory, as the caregiver will be responsible for transporting or accompanying the client to appointments, errands, and community outings. Additional responsibilities include assisting with personal care such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, supporting medication reminders or administration as directed, and performing light housekeeping related to the client's care needs. Monitoring the client's health, behavior, and overall needs is also essential, with the caregiver expected to report any significant changes to family members or supervising staff promptly. This role is vital to maintaining the client’s health and well-being, providing both physical and emotional support in a home setting. Heart to Heart seeks applicants who are committed to excellence in caregiving, value respect and dignity, and wish to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those with developmental disabilities.
