The Manager of Imaging Operations role at Baylor Scott and White Regional Medical Center Grapevine is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing multiple imaging modalities including X-Ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, and Echocardiography. This position involves planning, designing, coordinating, and improving imaging services to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-efficient delivery of diagnostic procedures. The manager plays a key role in maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements imposed by entities such as The Joint Commission and ensures that all practices align with the organization’s vision, mission, values, and goals.

In this role, the manager acts as a direct point of leadership and accountability for imaging operations, encompassing supervising staff, managing workflows, and developing policies and procedures. The position demands proficiency in handling complex regulatory frameworks and the ability to innovate processes for continual improvement across all modalities. The manager is also tasked with staff management duties, including interviewing, hiring, performance evaluation, training, and certification compliance. An essential responsibility is fostering collaboration across departments to facilitate communication and uphold high standards of patient safety, quality, and service excellence.

Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree
  • Minimum 5 years of radiology or imaging experience
  • At least 3 years hospital setting experience
  • Minimum 5 years of radiology or imaging leadership experience
  • Certification from ARMRIT, ARRT-BD, ARRT-BS, ARRT-CT, ARRT-M, ARRT-MR, ARRT-N, ARRT-R, ARRT-S, ARRT-VI, CNMT, RDMS-AB, RDMS-BR, RMDS-FE, RDMS-OB, RDMS-PS or RN
  • Ability to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic medical documentation systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams
  • Capacity to manage budgets and staffing effectively
  • Capability to update knowledge on imaging trends and procedures
  • Willingness to take call if required

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree or above preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of total Radiology/Imaging experience with at least 3 years in a hospital setting
  • Minimum 5 years of Radiology/Imaging leadership experience in supervisory or managerial roles
  • Certification such as ARMRIT, ARRT-BD, ARRT-BS, ARRT-CT, ARRT-M, ARRT-MR, ARRT-N, ARRT-R, ARRT-S, ARRT-VI, CNMT, RDMS-AB, RDMS-BR, RMDS-FE, RDMS-OB, RDMS-PS, or RN certified by ARRT or ARDMS or specialty certification for area of responsibility
  • Experience in level III trauma and stroke center preferred

Job Duties

  • Plan, design, implement, and maintain work processes for imaging services focusing on turnaround times, exam quality, and patient preparation
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and cost-efficient services complying with system and regulatory standards, policies, and procedures
  • Monitor, evaluate, and modify staffing patterns to ensure adequate levels and prepare work schedules
  • Interview, hire, counsel, and terminate personnel in coordination with Human Resources
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide training, and ensure all staff certifications are current
  • Hold multidisciplinary meetings to ensure communication and adherence to organizational goals
  • Facilitate goal setting for staff, monitor achievements, and provide feedback on service improvements
  • Partner with management to develop and monitor department budgets and provide feedback on equipment needs
  • Act as a liaison to other departments and maintain cooperative relationships with physicians and medical staff
  • Ensure compliance with JCAHO, TDH standards, and other accrediting bodies
  • Coordinate patient service needs using AIDET and ensure correct exam procedures
  • Lead patient safety, customer service, and performance improvement initiatives including LEAN and 5S projects
  • Participate in shared governance, department, hospital, or professional committees and activities
