The Imaging Engineer III role at TRIMEDX encompasses a critical position responsible for the installation, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and performance verification of complex and intricate medical imaging equipment. This includes specialty areas such as MRI, CT, Cath-Labs, Radiation Oncology, and other medical imaging modalities. The position requires knowledge and familiarity with all classes of clinical equipment and may involve performing maintenance on equipment outside of the primary specialty area. The Imaging Engineer III also serves as a key advisor to medical and clinical staff regarding the specification, acquisition, safe use, and proper operation of specialty medical imaging equipment.

This role ensures that all regulatory compliance standards are met and actively contributes to department improvements through mentoring and development of other associates. Strong technical expertise is essential, as well as an ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders including supervisors, subcontractors, vendors, outside service technicians, and end-users. A valid drivers license and the willingness to travel are required elements due to customer and business needs.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years experience in the repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of medical imaging equipment
  • 2 year degree in a technical or electronics field or equivalent experience (waived if TRIMEDX Trained Certification or equivalent biomedical certification completed)
  • valid drivers license
  • ability to reach, pull, and use fine motor skills
  • ability to bend, crouch, kneel, climb, balance, or maneuver body during service and inspection
  • ability to operate tools and machinery using hand or foot controls
  • ability to lift, carry, or move objects up to 50 lbs
  • willingness to travel as needed
  • adherence to drug-free workplace policy

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience repairing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and installing medical imaging equipment
  • 2 year degree in technical or electronics field or equivalent experience or TRIMEDX Trained Certification or equivalent biomedical certification
  • bachelor's degree in engineering technology preferred
  • complex computer skills including interpreting error codes and computer codes
  • knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel) and networking applications
  • ability to integrate information from multiple sources
  • excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • TSP certified

Job Duties

  • Perform performance assurance inspections, scheduled maintenance, and operation verification procedures on complex medical imaging equipment
  • repair, install, and calibrate complex medical imaging equipment and systems
  • inform supervisors of the status of repairs, scheduled inspections, unusual equipment situations, and customer concerns
  • work with, direct, and document activities of subcontractors, vendors, and outside service technicians
  • maintain clinical engineering expertise through ongoing training and education
  • lead service operations special projects and mentor others
  • ensure accuracy and integrity of equipment database including inventory and service history
  • adhere to Medical Equipment Management Plan and regulatory agency compliances
  • ensure all service and documentation is complete, timely, and accurate
  • collaborate with Medical Physicist on radiation outputs for regulatory compliance and patient safety
  • build and maintain customer relationships
  • discuss equipment status and functionality with clinicians
  • adhere to organizational mission, vision, and values
  • represent TriMedx services positively by integrating core values
  • perform periodic inventory inspections and maintain common failure parts inventory
  • verify completion of security analysis for new customer equipment
  • perform incoming inspections to maintain complete and accurate medical device inventory
  • make recommendations regarding inventory
  • carry out all other assigned duties
