As an Imaging Engineer I at TRIMEDX, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and safety of a wide range of medical imaging equipment. This position primarily involves installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and verifying medical imaging devices including general radiographic rooms, portable machines, mammography units, ultrasound systems, bone density scanners, and other supporting equipment. The role requires a solid technical foundation and familiarity with multiple classes of clinical equipment, with the flexibility to perform maintenance on equipment beyond the designated specialty areas. In addition to hands-on technical work, the Imaging Engineer ensures compliance with regulatory standards, assists with inventory management, and supports other TRIMEDX personnel by providing technical expertise and advice.

Job Requirements

  • 2 year degree in a technical/electronics field or equivalent experience
  • TRIMEDX Trained Certification or equivalent biomedical related certification program preferred
  • At least 6 months experience in repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of medical imaging equipment preferred
  • Complex computer skills including interpreting error codes and replacing hardware components
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and networking applications required
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, crouching, kneeling, climbing, balancing, and operating machinery and tools

Job Qualifications

  • 2 year degree in technical/electronics field or equivalent experience
  • TRIMEDX Trained Certification or equivalent biomedical certification program preferred
  • 6 months experience in repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of medical imaging equipment preferred
  • Complex computer skills including interpreting error codes and hardware maintenance
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and networking applications
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to integrate information from multiple sources
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, operating tools, and lifting up to 50 lbs

Job Duties

  • Perform performance assurance inspections, scheduled maintenance, and operation verification procedures on medical imaging equipment
  • Repair, install, and calibrate medical imaging equipment
  • Inform supervisors of repair status, scheduled inspections, equipment issues, and customer concerns
  • Work with, direct, and document activities of subcontractors, vendors, and outside service technicians
  • Maintain Clinical Engineering expertise through ongoing training and education
  • Assist with Service Operations Special Projects as assigned
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of equipment database including inventory and service history
  • Adhere to the Medical Equipment Management Plan and regulatory compliances
  • Ensure all service documentation is complete and timely
  • Collaborate with Medical Physicist on radiation outputs for compliance and safety
  • Build and maintain customer relationships
  • Discuss equipment status and functionality with clinicians
  • Adhere to mission, vision, and values of the organization
  • Provide positive representation of TRIMEDX services
  • Perform periodic inspections of current inventory and maintain parts inventory
  • Verify security analysis for new customer equipment
  • Perform Incoming Inspections to maintain accurate inventory
  • Make inventory recommendations
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
