The role of Imaging Assistant at Powers Health is crucial in supporting the efficient operation of the Radiology Department. Under the general direction of the Manager of Imaging Services, Lead Imaging Assistant, or Charge Technologist, the Imaging Assistant performs a variety of duties ranging from clerical tasks to patient management and departmental support. This full-time position involves handling both inpatient and outpatient processes including paper flow management, file organization, scheduling examinations, and familiarity with digital systems such as PACS for image storage and retrieval. The Imaging Assistant also plays a frontline role in greeting and directing patients and visitors, ensuring they are comfortable and safely transported within various modalities of the Radiology Department.
The position requires a proactive and dependable individual who demonstrates strong initiative and sound judgment in patient safety and confidentiality. The Imaging Assistant is expected to maintain professionalism and treat all individuals with respect while effectively communicating across different organizational levels. This role not only supports the clinical and administrative functions but also helps maintain a welcoming and organized environment for both patients and healthcare providers. The schedule includes day and evening shifts, with workdays spanning Monday through Friday as well as weekends and holidays, requiring flexibility and dedication.

Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Maintains CPR certification
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong initiative and dependability
- Ability to assist non-ambulatory patients
- Knowledge of clerical duties and medical departmental procedures
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays

Job Duties
- Greets visitors and patients determining their needs and directs them to the appropriate person or area
- Completes patient processing by obtaining information necessary for forms charts and department registration
- Assists non-ambulatory patients with transfer from bed to transport vehicle appropriately drapes covers patient to ensure privacy
- Performs any other duties assigned
- Maintains knowledge of PACS and digitalizing film
- Schedules examinations and manages paper flow and file room tasks in the Radiology Department
