Job Description

Legacy Pointe at UCF is a distinguished Life Plan Community deeply committed to enriching the lives of older adults through compassionate care, meaningful connection, and lifelong learning opportunities. Affiliated with the University of Central Florida, this modern and welcoming community values dignity, service, and hospitality in every aspect of its operations. Legacy Pointe provides a comprehensive continuum of care, ranging from independent living and assisted living to memory care and skilled nursing, ensuring residents receive the appropriate support tailored to their needs throughout their aging journey. The culture fosters intergenerational engagement and innovative programming, all aimed at enhancing the quality of life for their residents.

The role of Server at Legacy Pointe is more than just a food service position – it is an opportunity to make a tangible difference in the daily lives of older adults. As a Server within the Dietary Services department, you are entrusted with creating a warm, welcoming dining experience that nurtures connection and well-being among residents. With a focus on hospitality, you will be responsible for efficiently and professionally serving meals and beverages, ensuring accuracy and safety while maintaining a clean and inviting dining environment. This role is essential to Legacy Pointe’s mission, as positive dining interactions contribute significantly to resident satisfaction, comfort, and dignity. The Server also supports special events and various dining service functions, working collaboratively with the Culinary and Dietary teams as well as other departments.

Legacy Pointe seeks individuals who exhibit patience, empathy, and professionalism, especially when engaging with older adults who may have cognitive or physical challenges. Flexibility, attention to detail, and teamwork are vital qualities needed to thrive in this fast-paced environment. The Server will greet residents and guests warmly, assist with meal choices mindful of dietary restrictions, and provide discreet help when needed, always upholding the community’s core values of service and respect. This position requires weekend and holiday availability and the ability to obtain Food Handler certification. Background screening is also mandatory, reinforcing Legacy Pointe’s commitment to safety and compliance.

This non-exempt role reports to Dietary Leadership and does not include supervisory responsibilities. It is ideal for those who want to contribute meaningfully to a supportive, engaging community focused on enhancing the lives of older adults. Joining Legacy Pointe means becoming part of a team dedicated to excellence in care and service, where every day presents the chance to brighten a resident’s day through genuine, heartfelt service.
