As a Host or Hostess, you play a vital role as the face of the restaurant. Your primary responsibility is to greet each guest promptly, cheerfully, and courteously, setting a positive tone for their entire experience. Greeting guests with a genuine smile, welcoming them warmly, and offering assistance throughout their visit are essential to this role. Beyond just seating guests, your duties involve managing guest flow efficiently, handling reservations and waitlists through both in-person and online platforms, and accommodating special needs, such as arranging for highchairs, boosters, or assisting guests with disabilities. You will also handle phone calls professionally and assist with to-go orders by taking, entering, and packaging them accurately, ensuring that deliveries to vehicles are handled as needed.

Your duties extend to supporting servers by assisting with food and drink service, clearing and cleaning tables quickly to maintain a clean environment, and generally ensuring the dining area operates smoothly. A qualified host or hostess is someone who is punctual, presentable, and ready to work in a clean, well-kept uniform. Excellent communication skills are a must, coupled with the physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform light lifting and movements throughout their shift.
