As a Host/Hostess at our restaurant, you will play a crucial role in shaping the first impression of our guests. The Host/Hostess position is a pivotal front-of-house role within our restaurant. You will be responsible for greeting guests warmly and promptly, managing reservations and wait lists efficiently, and assisting with guest needs throughout their visit. This role is vital in maintaining the flow of service and creating a comfortable environment that encourages repeat visits. Successful candidates understand the importance of punctuality, appearance, and effective communication skills to contribute positively to our team and enhance guest satisfaction.
Working as a Host/Hostess in our establishment not only involves greeting guests but also entails a variety of responsibilities that support the restaurant's daily operations. This includes opening doors for guests, accommodating any special requests or requirements such as booster seats, highchairs, or accessibility needs, and assisting servers by supporting order management and table maintenance tasks. Additionally, this role may include answering phone calls, managing online wait lists, and handling takeout orders, ensuring an organized and smooth guest experience from arrival to departure. The ability to multi-task and maintain an upbeat attitude under pressure is key to succeeding in this position.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in customer service preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Must be able to stand for extended periods
- Able to lift lighter weights (5-15 pounds)
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills for managing online wait lists and to-go orders
Job Qualifications
- Good communication skills
- Ability to lift 5-15 pounds
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours
- Ability to use motion that entails pushing, pulling, stretching and continuous bilateral use of fingers and wrists
- Previous experience in a hospitality or customer service role preferred
- Well-groomed and able to maintain a clean uniform
- Punctual and reliable
Job Duties
- Opening the door for guest arriving and departing
- Accommodating any special needs of guests i.e. boosters, highchairs, disabilities
- Answering the phone
- Managing an online wait list
- Taking, entering and packaging to-go orders including delivering to vehicle as needed
- Providing guest assistance to servers as needed, serving food and drinks, cleaning tables, etc.
