Job Description

IHOP, formally known as the International House of Pancakes, is a renowned American multinational pancake house restaurant chain specializing in breakfast items but also offering lunch and dinner menus. Established over 65 years ago, IHOP has built a legacy as a leader, innovator, and expert in all things related to breakfast, lunch, and dinner. With a vast network of locations, each IHOP restaurant is dedicated to creating a welcoming atmosphere where guests feel valued and can enjoy high-quality, delicious food shared in the company of friends and family. The brand is synonymous with comfort, warmth, and memorable dining experiences, making it a beloved establishment across diverse communities. At the core of IHOP's mission is the desire to bring a smile to the faces of every guest who walks through their doors. Their commitment to excellent customer service and consistent food quality keeps guests coming back and fosters a loyal customer base.

The IHOP location on Kingston Pike is currently seeking a friendly and energetic Host to join their team. This role represents the critical first point of contact between guests and the restaurant, making it essential for creating a positive first impression and setting the tone for the entire dining experience. The Host's primary responsibility is to welcome guests warmly, accurately manage seating arrangements, and assist with guiding guests throughout their visit. This position requires working in a fast-paced environment, often handling multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining exceptional service standards. The Host also plays a crucial role in collaborating with servers, managers, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily operations and guest satisfaction.

This position offers a starting pay of $12 per hour and requires weekend availability, reflecting the fast-paced and often busy nature of restaurant work. IHOP values its employees by providing numerous benefits aimed at growth, development, and work-life balance. These include paid vacation, health, dental, and vision insurance, flexible scheduling, free shift meals, family discounts, on-the-job training, and various opportunities for career advancement. Additionally, the team members can take advantage of a unique discount program spanning travel, gyms, cell phones, restaurants, auto purchases, apparel, and electronics, making employment at IHOP both rewarding and supportive of employees' diverse needs.

The ideal candidate for the Host position will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure. Bringing previous hospitality or customer service experience is preferred but not a strict requirement, as IHOP provides comprehensive training to its team members. Physical stamina is necessary, given that the role demands standing for long periods and occasionally lifting items up to 25 pounds. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is also an important aspect for ensuring full coverage during operating hours. Joining IHOP means becoming part of a team where you can build lifelong friendships, receive support in your professional development, and contribute meaningfully to a vibrant and friendly dining environment. If you are enthusiastic, reliable, and passionate about delivering excellent guest experiences, the Host role at IHOP's Kingston Pike location offers an excellent opportunity to grow with one of the most respected restaurant brands in the industry.
