The I&E Technician role at Air Liquide Electronics is crucial in maintaining and supporting industrial instrumentation and electrical systems that keep gas production running efficiently and safely. The successful candidate will be actively involved in troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing instrumentation and electrical components within the plant environment. Due to the nature of the work, this role requires physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work at elevated heights, and respond to on-call situations, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

As an I&E Technician, you will be a vital contributor to the safe operation and maintenance of instrumentation and electrical systems. Your role will involve resolving technical issues, supporting maintenance schedules through a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), and aligning with safety and environmental procedures. You will also support the development of standard operating procedures and collaborate closely with Plant Managers and Maintenance Coordinators to meet facility needs. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 year technical degree preferred
  • 5+ years I&E experience
  • Knowledge of the use of a computerized maintenance management system
  • Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work
  • Ability to maintain, repair, and calibrate analyzers, transmitters, control valves, etc.
  • Basic understanding of control systems
  • Basic understanding of the facility processes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong emphasis on safety
  • Eager to learn and develop new skills
  • Willing to travel
  • Has full range of motion and ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Ability to work extended hours and shift work as business needs dictate
  • Ability to climb and ascend vertical ladders as required
  • Ability to enter and work in confined spaces
  • On call nights, weekends and holidays as required

Job Duties

  • Support the safe operation and maintenance of all I&E systems to ensure a secure environment for all
  • Resolve and refine plant instrument, electrical, and control system needs to maintain optimal performance
  • Perform analyzer calibrations and care as required to support technical precision
  • Carry out work orders, identify opportunities for corrective maintenance, and maintain detailed PM records within the Maximo CMMS
  • Guide and support I&E project implementation, ensuring alignment with project goals and quality standards
  • Contribute suggestions to advance plant safety, efficiency, and quality through proactive problem-solving
  • Support and align with all safety, health, and environmental procedures for the well-being of the team
  • Support and align with all process safety management (PSM) practices
  • Perform job functions to support the reliable, in-spec, and timely delivery of gases to our customers
  • Assist in the thoughtful development and maintenance of standard operating procedures
  • Support additional facility needs in collaboration with the Plant Manager or Maintenance Coordinator
