This is a hands-on role that challenges the candidate to be both a problem solver and a preventive maintenance expert. Responsibilities include daily inspections, repairs, and fine-tuning of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical circuits, and various mechanical equipment throughout the hotel. The engineer will be expected to perform minor carpentry, painting, and furniture repairs to uphold the facility's aesthetic and operational standards. Adeptness in responding swiftly to emergencies such as power outages or fire alarms is essential, always prioritizing guest safety and comfort.
Physical stamina and the ability to follow OSHA safety guidelines rigorously are indispensable for this role. The engineer must be capable of performing physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy objects and operating machinery safely. Safety and organization in the workplace are paramount, including the correct storage of tools and hazardous materials. The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with prior experience in hotel maintenance or a similar field preferred. Trade licenses in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or carpentry are highly desirable qualifications. A valid driver's license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record is also required.
