Job Requirements

  • High school or equivalent experience
  • six months or less of similar or related experience
  • ability to carry out detailed but simple written or verbal instructions
  • ability to do simple addition and subtraction
  • ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions
  • availability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
  • reliable attendance and punctuality
  • adherence to company hygiene and dress standards

Job Duties

  • Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions
  • smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner
  • makes an effort to learn customers’ names and to address them by name when possible
  • takes customer orders at the Hy-Chi Department counter
  • answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly service including order taking
  • works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
  • reviews orders for the day
  • practices proper sanitation procedures and keeps work area clean
  • reviews the freshness and appearance of food
  • ensures adequate food supply and follows production list
  • anticipates product needs daily
  • prepares, finishes, and replenishes products as necessary
  • pulls product from cooler/freezer for cooking
  • checks in and puts away product while reviewing invoices
  • runs department register and processes payments where applicable
  • removes trash in a timely manner
  • maintains strict adherence to personal hygiene and dress code
  • adheres to company policies and reports to work on time
