Job Duties

  • Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions
  • Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner whether in the department or elsewhere in the store
  • Makes an effort to learn customers’ names and assist customers by escorting to products, securing hard-to-reach products, and handling heavy items
  • Answers the telephone promptly and provides helpful service including taking customer orders
  • Takes customer orders at the Hy-Chi Department counter
  • Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and pleasant work environment
  • Reviews orders for the day
  • Understands and practices proper sanitation procedures and keeps work area clean and neat
  • Reviews the status and freshness of food
  • Ensures an adequate food supply is ready and available, following a production list
  • Anticipates product needs daily for the department
  • Prepares, finishes, and replenishes products as necessary
  • Pulls products from cooler/freezer to prepare for cooking
  • Checks in products, puts product away, reviews invoices
  • Runs department register and processes payments where applicable
  • Removes trash timely
  • Maintains adherence to personal hygiene and dress guidelines
  • Adheres to company policies and reports to work on time
