Established in 1909, ABM has built a reputation as a driving force for creating cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environments across a broad spectrum of industries. The company offers a comprehensive array of services ranging from janitorial and engineering to parking, electrical and lighting, energy solutions including electric vehicle charging infrastructure, HVAC and mechanical services, landscaping, turf management, and critical mission support. ABM serves a diverse client base that includes commercial office buildings, universities, airports, hospitals, data centers, manufacturing plants, distribution centers, and entertainment venues, among others. With more than 100,000 employees and operating in over 350 offices throughout the United States, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, and other international locations, ABM generates nearly $8 billion in annual revenue. The company is committed to diversity, equal opportunity, and accommodating individuals with disabilities, reflecting its values as an inclusive and military-friendly employer.

The Commercial HVAC Service Technician role at ABM offers a dynamic and challenging opportunity within the facilities services industry, focusing on the maintenance, repair, and installation of commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration equipment. This position handles a broad range of mechanical and electrical systems including controls, chilled water systems, boilers, package units up to 130 tons, and split systems. The technician will work in compliance with ABM's stringent client expectations and industry standards, ensuring each task meets quality and safety regulations.

As a Commercial HVAC Service Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, calibrating, and adjusting HVAC system components, including pilots, thermostats, burners, transformers, relays, heaters, elements, switches, and various control systems. Using trade-specific tools like multimeters, refrigerant gauges, and charging charts, you will perform daily assessments, installations, and repairs on ventilation and air conditioning equipment. The role demands keen attention to maintenance risks and the ability to efficiently diagnose electrical and mechanical faults. In addition to routine preventive maintenance and warranty services, you will execute emergency repairs promptly to minimize downtime and ensure client satisfaction.

Technical proficiency and on-the-job leadership are crucial, as this role includes providing technical direction and training to junior staff members. Maintaining accurate daily logs and records of all maintenance activities is essential for ensuring transparency, compliance, and continuous improvement. The position also requires strict adherence to appliance standards and Occupational Health and Safety regulations, reflecting ABM's commitment to the safety and well-being of its workforce and clients.

ABM strongly encourages veterans and candidates with military experience to apply, highlighting the company’s military-friendly policies and the value placed on skills gained through military service. The job necessitates willingness to organize with the Local 189 Union if not already a member. Candidates must possess required credentials such as EPA Universal Certification and refrigeration/HVAC vocational certification, along with a valid driver's license and be at least 18 years old.
