The HVAC Refrigeration Technician role is essential for maintaining optimal climate control systems critical to the smooth operation of GE Aviation’s manufacturing and production areas. The technician will be entrusted with maintaining and repairing a variety of HVAC systems, conducting preventative maintenance on refrigeration units of various types, and installing HVAC equipment throughout the facility. This position demands a high level of technical skill, including the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and diagrams. The role requires a Massachusetts Refrigeration License and Recovery Certification, ensuring adherence to state regulations and industry standards.

Job Requirements
- Massachusetts refrigeration license and recovery certification required
- High school diploma or equivalent education (GED)
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and diagrams
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to work in confined areas, off ladders, platforms and heights
- Ability to lift, move and manipulate fixtures and hardware up to 30 lbs with or without accommodations
Job Qualifications
- Massachusetts refrigeration license and recovery certification required
- High school diploma or equivalent education (GED)
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and diagrams
- Experience as refrigeration mechanic working in an industrial environment
- Knowledge and experience in installation, operation, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of commercial building heating and cooling systems
- Knowledge of safety rules in an industrial setting
- Working knowledge in installation of large industrial equipment
- Ability to read and interpret detailed plans, specifications, operating manuals and other related materials
- Familiarity with industrial and Massachusetts regulations
- Ability to troubleshoot heating/cooling problems
- Strong understanding of HVAC controls
- Strong electrical and mechanical abilities
- Ability to use basic tools and machinery
- Ability to schedule, plan and order materials for jobs
- Excellent communication skills and customer relations
Job Duties
