The Sales Outfitter position at Bass Pro Shops Sayreville is an exciting role that focuses on providing excellent customer service and retail sales support within the Hunting and Archery merchandise department, excluding firearms. Both full-time and part-time positions are available, reflecting Bass Pro Shops’ flexible employment opportunities geared towards accommodating various schedules. The Sales Outfitter will be actively engaged at the sales counter, greeting customers promptly and warmly and assisting them in identifying and purchasing the appropriate merchandise for their outdoor needs. Through attentive service and expert product knowledge, the Sales Outfitter plays a pivotal role in creating a positive and productive shopping atmosphere.
Individuals in this role will be expected to demonstrate a strong understanding of the Hunting and Archery products offered, effectively communicating their features and benefits to customers. They are responsible for maintaining the merchandise displays according to company guidelines, ensuring that shelves are well-stocked and organized, and promptly replenishing inventory. An important aspect of this role is promoting club memberships, volume-of-commerce offers, and in-store pickup services, contributing to the overall growth and customer loyalty initiatives of Bass Pro Shops.
In addition to customer interaction, the Sales Outfitter will participate in seasonal merchandising changes, maintaining product signage and pricing updates, and adhering strictly to all company policies and safety procedures. Physical demands include the ability to stand for extended periods, assist in lifting moderately heavy objects, and occasionally operate equipment relevant to the sales floor environment.
This position offers a starting pay rate ranging from $19.00 to $21.75 per hour, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees. - Provide counter sales and customer service for hunting/archery merchandise non-firearms
- Greet and acknowledge customers in a prompt and friendly manner
- Identify and evaluate customers’ needs
- Make product recommendations based on needs analysis
- Promote programs including club membership, volume of commerce, and in-store pickup
- Demonstrate products to customers
- Organize and maintain merchandise displays
- Replenish product on shelves following merchandising guidelines
- Maintain knowledge of product and advertised sales
- Assist with seasonal floor merchandise moves
- Keep work area clean and well stocked
- Follow all company policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
