Job Description

Novolex is a prominent manufacturer specializing in food, beverage, and specialty packaging solutions that serve a diverse range of industries, including foodservice, restaurant delivery and carryout, food processing, grocery, retail, and various industrial sectors. With extensive expertise in manufacturing and sourcing, Novolex handles a wide array of substrates such as resin, paper, molded fiber, aluminum, and more. The company offers an impressive portfolio that includes 120 product categories, 250 brands, and over 39,000 SKUs, catering to both stock and customized packaging needs. Novolex stands out for its commitment to sustainability, built on three foundational pillars: products, operations, and people. This commitment guides the company’s growth and future vision, driving numerous initiatives aimed at reducing environmental impact and promoting sustainable business practices.

This role is for a Human Resources Manager who will play a key role as a business partner within a manufacturing facility, collaborating closely with the facility’s leadership team to deliver HR strategies that align with organizational goals. The position involves crafting and executing short- and medium-term HR plans that resolve challenges and support operational objectives effectively. The Human Resources Manager will develop tools and establish regular cadences to ensure HR deliverables are executed on time, within budget, and meet the desired business outcomes. Reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources, this position may oversee other HR professionals or administrative staff at their site and will engage with centers of excellence across talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, and employee experience.

The Human Resources Manager at Novolex is expected to be a proactive business partner who participates actively in the daily management of the site, aligning functional strategies with broader business initiatives to create impactful solutions. This individual will also act as a mentor and coach to site leadership, addressing employee-related matters and supporting a culture that fosters engagement through effective communication, recognition, and rewards. The role includes leading recruitment efforts for the site, especially overseeing hourly requisitions and working closely with the Talent Acquisition team to provide a seamless onboarding and training experience for new hires. Managing talent through annual performance reviews, workforce planning, development, and learning opportunities is a critical component.

Additionally, the Human Resources Manager advises leadership on company culture, organizational effectiveness, change management, and aligns these elements with Novolex’s core values and strategic priorities. The role requires robust analytical skills for maintaining dashboards and performing root cause analyses on people-related metrics to inform decision-making. Compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal labor laws is paramount, along with managing labor relations, including negotiations, conflict resolution, collective bargaining agreements, and grievance and arbitration processes. This position requires flexibility with up to 10% travel within the United States.

The salary range for this role is estimated between $85,000 and $95,000 annually, with additional bonuses and comprehensive benefits that support the well-being and development of employees. Novolex offers a 401(k) plan with company match, medical, dental, and vision insurance, flexible spending and health savings accounts, paid vacation and sick days, paid parental leave, paid holidays, and wellness programs. Candidates who bring strong experience in unionized environments and a proven track record in driving positive labor relations would be well-suited to this opportunity.
