Job Description
The Barfield, Autograph Collection, is a distinguished boutique hotel that showcases the spirit of Texas Panhandle hospitality blended with a modern, luxury twist. Located in the vibrant downtown area of Amarillo, Texas, The Barfield embodies a unique combination of Western charm and upscale service, making it an iconic destination for travelers seeking a memorable stay. Part of the prestigious Autograph Collection, which is a portfolio of unique independent hotels associated with Marriott International, The Barfield is independently owned and operated by Coury Hospitality. This independence allows the hotel to maintain a distinct character while benefitting from the brand’s global recognition and standards.
With 112 stylish guest rooms, The Barfield provides a blend of comfort and elegance tailored for both business and leisure guests. The hotel boasts The Toscana, an Italian steakhouse that exemplifies refined but rugged dining, and the Paramount Recreation Club, a speakeasy-inspired venue that perfects the combination of history and innovation. Guests and staff alike enjoy an atmosphere that is service-focused, energetic, and respectful of regional heritage.
The Human Resources Manager position at The Barfield is a critical role that supports the hotel's commitment to fostering a positive and productive work environment. This full-time management role is based at 600 S Polk St, Amarillo, Texas, and is directly employed by the hotel's franchisee, Coury Hospitality, not Marriott International. The salary range offered for this position is $70,000 to $75,000, and it includes comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and a 401K plan.
As an HR Manager, you will be instrumental in guiding and overseeing all human resources functions within the hotel. This role requires a blend of strategic oversight and hands-on engagement to maintain and enhance human capital practices. You will be responsible for implementing and evaluating human resources services, policies, and programs, including employee relations, payroll, hiring processes, training and development, compensation plans, and legal compliance.
Success in this position requires strong interpersonal skills, confidentiality, sensitivity, and neutrality in handling employee matters across all organizational levels. You will coach department heads, maintain accurate payroll, manage job requisitions, support recruiting efforts, conduct orientations and training, administer pay plans, and ensure employee work results are effectively planned and monitored. This position also involves proactive communication of employee benefits and navigating regulatory requirements related to human resources.
Being part of The Barfield team means joining a spirited group of professionals dedicated to delivering exceptional hospitality while embodying the unique cultural essence of the Texas Panhandle. The HR Manager will contribute significantly to sustaining and growing the team’s strengths, promoting a culture of respect, continuous learning, and performance excellence. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and culturally rich setting while advancing your HR career within a reputable hotel brand known for quality and individuality.
