Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or related field
  • Minimum of one year of human resource management experience
  • Prior experience managing volunteers or recruitment preferred
  • PHR, SPHR, or equivalent certification preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally
  • Ability to present professionally to groups
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to travel as needed within service area
  • Willingness to work in a drug-free environment

Job Qualifications

  • Related undergraduate degree in business, human resources, or closely related field preferred
  • Minimum of one year of human resource management experience required, three years preferred
  • Prior volunteer management or employee recruitment experience preferred
  • PHR, SPHR, or equivalent certification preferred and willingness to obtain certification
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to present professionally in public
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to relate well with individuals at all levels
  • Clean driving record and ability to be approved under organization auto insurance
  • Willingness to travel within the service area

Job Duties

  • Manage the volunteer program including recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, training, scheduling, supervision, and record keeping
  • Develop community connections to recruit volunteers and interns
  • Coordinate employee retention initiatives such as engagement surveys, service awards, retirement parties, and appreciation activities
  • Implement and maintain FMLA compliance and tracking including timely documentation and notifications
  • Manage COBRA compliance notifications for current and departing employees
  • Assist with recruitment, applicant screening, interviewing, and onboarding for entry-level positions
  • Support workers’ compensation activities and OSHA reporting including accident review and documentation
