The organization is guided by core principles such as integrity, compliance, and customer focus, alongside values like humility and respect. Their mission centers on enriching people's lives by delivering memorable experiences and making meaningful contributions to their communities while honoring God in all aspects of their business.

Pacific Hospitality Group operates in the hospitality industry, primarily managing hotels with a strong emphasis on team development and community involvement. Their company culture fosters principled entrepreneurship and a customer-centered approach that shapes the way they train and manage staff. They are dedicated to building teams that align with their core values and business objectives, emphasizing personal fulfillment and knowledge enhancement.

The available role of Director of People & Culture is a vital part of the hotel’s executive team, designed to partner closely with the General Manager to craft and execute the property’s strategic goals. The position is full-time with a competitive salary ranging from $120,000 to $140,000, reflecting the level of responsibility and expertise required.

In this role, the Director of People & Culture manages and leads the People & Culture department, overseeing all facets such as recruitment, employee training, compensation, employee relations, and benefit administration. This individual ensures the property's compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local employment regulations, fostering a workplace environment that values legal and ethical standards. The role includes directing daily departmental operations to achieve financial profitability while maintaining high standards for team satisfaction and guest service.

Beyond administration and compliance, the Director is instrumental in building effective teams and advancing a positive organizational culture. One of the key responsibilities is overseeing the full-cycle recruitment process, ensuring talent acquisition aligns with the company’s standards and values. They are also responsible for managing benefit plans and addressing any inquiries or challenges related to employee benefits, ensuring team members are well-supported.

The role further entails guiding managers through policy interpretation, corrective actions, and performance management while ensuring that all employee interactions are consistent with labor laws and corporate policies. This comprehensive oversight extends to the management of worker’s compensation claims and the promotion of safety practices across the property.

The Director of People & Culture also plays a crucial role in facilitating training programs, enhancing effective communication within the team, and fostering an atmosphere of mutual respect and fulfillment. The position requires adaptability given the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, with potential variations in team member schedules based on business needs.

Pacific Hospitality Group values candidates with a strong background in human resources, preferably those holding a bachelor’s degree or certifications such as SHRM or PHR. The ideal candidate should have five or more years of progressively responsible human resources experience, including at least three years in a director-level position. Expertise in worker’s compensation, employment laws, employee relations, and benefits administration is essential. Exceptional leadership skills and the ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment are critical for success in this role.

The role demands a commitment to maintaining a diverse and inclusive workplace, ensuring equal employment opportunities across all aspects of employment without discrimination. This commitment reflects the group’s overall dedication to fairness and respect for all team members and applicants.

In summary, the Director of People & Culture at Pacific Hospitality Group is a leadership position that combines strategic oversight, regulatory compliance, employee relations, and team development within a dynamic hospitality environment.
