This full-time, in-office Human Resources position based in Portland, OR (97211) offers a competitive hourly rate between $21 and $24 for day shift hours from Monday to Friday. The role encompasses a comprehensive scope of HR functions, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, benefits administration, and employee relations. In this dynamic position, you will gain hands-on experience managing full-cycle recruitment efforts for a variety of positions across multiple locations. Additional responsibilities include managing compliance with employment documentation such as I-9, W-4, and E-Verify, as well as coordinating drug testing, background checks, and motor vehicle record verifications when required.
In addition to recruitment and compliance duties, you will conduct phone interviews, facilitate new hire orientations, and act as a key point of contact for employee inquiries, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality at all times. The role also involves providing backup support and cross-functional assistance to fellow HR team members. You will be entrusted with administering the company’s 401(k) Retirement Plan, managing benefits distribution, and facilitating employee separations. Supporting the HR Director and HR Manager with various assigned duties, this position is integral to the efficient operation of the Human Resources department. Job Requirements
- 2+ years of recent office work experience with recruiting or in the human resources field
- Effective communication skills
- bilingual Spanish preferred
- Highly detail-oriented and ability to use good judgement
- Demonstrates ability to provide excellent customer service and professionalism
- Able to work a flexible schedule, depending on the needs of the business
- Effective presentation skills
- Familiar with MS Office – specifically Excel and Outlook
- Takes initiative and is a team player
- Proficient in multitasking and adept at managing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Possesses a kind, positive and helpful attitude and demeanor
- Position is contingent upon a successful background check, and ability to pass a drug screen, including THC

Job Duties
- Posts job advertisements and source qualified candidates, including conducting phone interviews for a range of positions for multiple locations through various recruiting tools
- Complete hiring process which may include in-house drug tests, processing background checks and verifying motor vehicle records
- Process new hire paperwork and ensure I-9, W-4 documents and E-Verify documents are compliant
- Answer employee inquiries timely and accurately to employees while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality
- Facilitate weekly new hire orientations
- Provide back up and cross-functional support of other team members as needed
- Administer 401(k), benefits distribution, and employee separations
- Supports HR Director and HR Manager with other assigned duties
- Perform other related duties as assigned
