Job Description

At our Eastvale, California location, we are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Human Resources (HR) Generalist to join our dynamic Distribution Center team. The HR Generalist role is vital to supporting the operational workforce, including warehouse and delivery associates working multiple shifts. In this capacity, you will be expected to partner closely with leadership and employees alike, delivering hands-on HR support and ensuring consistent application of company policies and practices.

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range between $72,000 and $78,000 per year. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining office operations, managing employee relations, administering benefits, coordinating hiring and onboarding processes, and assisting with payroll-related issues. Additionally, the HR Generalist will oversee safety compliance, manage workers' compensation claims, handle FMLA-related matters, and coordinate disciplinary actions with the broader HR department.

The role requires occasional travel to regional cross-docks or delivery hubs, typically ranging from one to three days. The HR Generalist will also supervise administrative support staff, manage office service requests, and maintain data and reporting systems to ensure smooth and efficient distribution center operations.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field
  • 3 to 5 years of Human Resources experience
  • prior distribution center or warehouse experience is preferred
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to maintain good working relationships with others
  • willingness and ability to travel as needed including overnight stays
  • ability to sit for extended periods and use computer equipment
  • ability to lift up to 25 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Human Resources
  • prior experience in a distribution center or warehouse environment is a plus
  • knowledge of the principles and practices of Human Resources
  • ability to provide unbiased evaluations to all personnel
  • knowledge of employee benefits
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to maintain good working relationships with others
  • ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages
  • ability to create, maintain, and incorporate functions into Word, Excel, databases, and PowerPoint

Job Duties

  • Handling employee relations for warehouse and delivery associates
  • applicant screening, interviewing, and managing the onboarding process through ATS
  • documenting attendance, PTO, and timecards
  • assisting with payroll-related issues
  • being familiar with and assisting with employee benefits
  • documenting, filing, and assisting with managing workers' comp claims and FMLA-related issues
  • coordinating employee disciplinary issues with the HR department for resolution and action
  • traveling to each regional cross-dock if needed
  • responding to general HR related inquiries from employees
  • managing and coordinating office activities
  • hiring, training, and supervising administration support staff
  • managing general services including purchasing of office supplies, mail distribution, office equipment maintenance and repair, and facility-related issues
  • supporting cross-docks with safety compliance and reporting
  • maintaining contact with outside vendors and suppliers regarding office and facility needs
  • gathering, organizing, and summarizing data and information for management reports
  • implementing and maintaining general office systems, procedures, and methods
  • record retention
  • preparation and control of common and administrative expenses and budgets
  • assuming other duties as assigned
