The franchisee holds a license that allows the use of McDonald’s logos and food products, but operates as a distinct business entity responsible for all employment matters, including hiring, supervision, discipline, and staffing decisions. McDonald’s USA does not control restaurant operations or employment decisions and is not involved in the application or hiring process. The role of the Manager in this restaurant is pivotal to its success.
