Job Description
SDK Apartments SM is a reputable real estate investment, development, and property management company with a strong portfolio of residential communities and commercial properties spanning multiple states. With a commitment to excellence and community engagement, SDK prioritizes a diverse and collaborative work environment. The company values its employees by offering opportunities for both professional and personal growth, backed by a comprehensive total rewards package that includes competitive pay, performance bonuses, and extensive benefits to support well-being and work-life balance. Located onsite in Ridgewood, NJ, SDK fosters a culture of respect, inclusivity, and ethical behavior, encouraging a workplace where individuals can thrive and contribute meaningfully to the companys mission. The organization is steadfast in its non-discrimination policies, ensuring fairness and equal opportunity for all team members regardless of background or identity.
The HR Generalist (HRG) position at SDK is a full-time role designed to lead the end-to-end recruitment processes specifically for corporate and manager-level positions across SDKs multi-state property management portfolio. The HRG plays a pivotal role in enhancing the companys talent acquisition efforts while also managing HR compliance and operational functions. This role requires a candidate with robust emotional intelligence, effective communication skills, and a proactive, people-centered approach. The HRG must demonstrate compassion, discretion, and sound judgment, prioritizing employee experience and fostering a healthy workplace culture.
Primary responsibilities include leading full-cycle recruitment, maintaining accurate candidate records in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), and monitoring recruitment metrics to improve speed and effectiveness. Beyond recruitment, the HRG also coordinates the onboarding process, ensuring compliance with employment documentation and maintaining precise employee records within multiple HR systems. The role extends to supporting payroll and timekeeping functions, processing employee status changes including transfers and promotions, and managing offboarding procedures.
Additionally, the HRG ensures that all HR practices are compliant with federal, state, and local laws, maintains organized personnel files, supports HR audits, and assists with HR policy implementation. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in full-cycle recruitment and HR operations within a multi-state environment, preferably with real estate industry knowledge. Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now (WFN), ClearCompany, and Replicon software suites is strongly preferred.
This position offers an annualized gross base salary range of $75,000 to $85,000 plus bonus eligibility, reflective of the candidates experience and expertise. Office hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM onsite in Ridgewood, NJ, requiring a motivated professional who values ethical decision-making and genuinely desires to support employees and collaborate effectively with leaders. SDK aims to maintain a workplace where every employee can feel respected, included, and empowered to be their best self, reinforcing their commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout their people processes.
