Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is a renowned independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to adult cancer treatment and pioneering research in cancer and infectious diseases. The role available at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is a senior leadership position that involves managing a team of HR Business Partners. This role is critical in delivering strategic human resources support that aligns tightly with the organization’s mission, vision, and business objectives. The incumbent will act as a trusted advisor to leaders, helping drive workforce strategy, enhance organizational effectiveness, and boost employee engagement. In addition to providing hands-on employee relations support, this position offers enterprise-level consulting and leads change management initiatives.

This role demands a seasoned HR leader who can balance autonomy and collaboration while leading multiple complex initiatives including restructuring, growth, transformation, and engagement strategies. The successful candidate will provide data-driven insights using HR analytics to inform strategic workforce decisions. They will also be responsible for resolving complex employee relations issues, facilitating sensitive conversations, and delivering tailored solutions to meet diverse organizational needs.

Furthermore, the role includes leading organizational design efforts and advising leaders on the people impacts of change, in addition to managing internal HR projects and initiatives. Leadership responsibilities extend to coaching and developing HR Business Partner teams through hiring, performance management, and ongoing professional development.

This position offers an annual base salary range from $126,984 to $200,678, reflecting the candidate’s experience and qualifications. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • minimum of 8 years of progressive human resources experience
  • minimum of 2 years of direct people leadership experience
  • demonstrated experience across multiple HR disciplines with strong knowledge of applicable labor and employment laws
  • proven ability to influence and drive outcomes without direct authority
  • demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and operate effectively in a dynamic environment
  • experience with complex employee relations investigations
  • experience advising senior leadership
  • experience in organizational change or transformation
  • experience in acute care, hospital, or academic medical center environment
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and virtual communication platforms

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Partner with senior leaders to develop and execute workforce and talent strategies aligned with business goals
  • lead and support change management initiatives, including restructuring, growth, and transformation efforts
  • drive employee engagement and retention strategies across assigned client groups
  • utilize HR data and insights to inform recommendations and decision-making
