Job Description

5 STAR Event Services is a leading specialty Event Security and Staff provider dedicated to supporting the dynamic sports and entertainment industries across Texas. Established in 2000, the company has grown substantially and boasts a workforce of 501-1000 employees. As a privately held Women’s Business Enterprise, 5 STAR maintains a strong commitment to diversity and equal opportunity employment. Holding the Department of Public Safety License number B09954, the company has garnered trust by delivering top-notch security and guest services at over 42,000 events, including major events for MLS & NWSL Soccer, NCAA Football, NASCAR, Formula 1, MotoGP, AHL Hockey, G League Basketball, as well as stadiums, arenas, theaters, symphonies, festivals, and conventions in Houston, Austin, and San Antonio.

The company’s core strength lies in combining professionalism, reliability, and a passion for public safety, making it a premier choice for clients who demand exceptional event management and security services. 5 STAR offers permanent part-time employment opportunities that are hourly paid, with rates starting at $13.00 per hour, catering to those looking for flexible work schedules with meaningful community engagement.

The role of Event Staff and Security Officers at 5 STAR Event Services is both exciting and essential. These individuals serve as the frontline representatives responsible for the safety, security, and comfort of all clients, guests, and employees during high-energy sports and music events. The position demands a vigilant and customer-focused approach where officers enforce security measures while maintaining a friendly demeanor to ensure a positive guest experience.

Event staff members must uphold the integrity of both public and private areas within the event locations, monitor entries and exits, perform thorough but respectful inspections such as bag checks and credentials verification, and manage crowd flow effectively. Their duties also include guiding guests to seating areas, responding to complaints per company policies, assisting in emergency evacuations, and providing security escorts as needed.

Candidates who join the team should be ready to work in a fast-paced, high-noise environment, often outdoors and in all weather conditions, with shifts that may include nights and weekends. Training is provided, including free Level 2 Security License preparation (Level II Training and Exam), which involves fingerprinting and criminal background checks. 5 STAR values a strong customer-service attitude, excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask, and staying calm under pressure.

Working at 5 STAR means engaging in meaningful work at various prestigious events year-round, developing specialized skills in security and customer service, and becoming part of a cohesive team that believes in the motto Together Everyone Achieves More (TEAM). It offers the chance to experience exciting events in your city, connect with your community, and earn competitive pay while having fun and contributing to safe, successful gatherings.
