We are currently seeking a skilled Baker / Fryer to join our dynamic team. This is a hands-on role where you will apply proper baking and frying techniques to prepare high-quality products. The role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow visual training aids and standard operating procedures, and consistent adherence to food safety regulations. You will be responsible for producing fresh baked and fried goods, packaging and merchandising them attractively on the sales floor to appeal to customers. Your role will also involve interacting with customers to provide superior service, taking orders, answering inquiries, and employing suggestive selling techniques to enhance customer satisfaction and increase department sales.
In addition to your baking and frying tasks, you will maintain production area cleanliness and ensure all equipment is properly set up, operated, cleaned, and maintained according to company standards. Accurate record-keeping of production and shrink data will be part of your daily responsibilities, helping to inform production planning. This position requires constant multitasking and working under time constraints while maintaining product quality and department standards. Job Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- at least 1 year of bakery experience
- knowledge of computer systems and equipment such as PC, symbol, scales, and label machine
- strong customer service skills
- good communication and interpersonal skills
- basic reading and writing skills
- ability to plan and organize work
- high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- completion of company orientation and food safety and sanitation training upon hire
Job Qualifications

- minimum of 1 year experience in bakery or related field

Job Duties
- Provide superior customer service
- take orders from customers by telephone or in person
- answer customer questions regarding products and assist with selections
- use suggestive selling techniques to meet customer needs and build department sales
- apply proficient baking and frying skills including equipment set-up, operation, cleaning, and maintenance
- use production tools to plan baking and frying
- apply proper baking and frying techniques for each item according to visual training aids
- plan for and break out proper amount of baked goods daily
- ensure quality control of all products before sending to sales floor
- ensure baked and fried product reaches the showcase and tables at prescribed times
- prepare, package, and merchandise fresh products effectively
- slice, package, label, and rotate products
- record production and shrink to aid in production planning
- clean and sanitize display cases
- maintain production area according to standard operating procedures
- comply with food safety and sanitation standards
- comply with department and store operating procedures
- operate and maintain all equipment properly
