As home to America’s largest indoor waterparks, Kalahari offers an exceptional blend of African-inspired décor combined with world-class dining, luxurious spas, thrilling entertainment, and state-of-the-art convention centers. These resorts have revolutionized hospitality by creating a unique environment that caters to families, business travelers, and vacationers alike. The resorts are spread across multiple locations, including Wisconsin Dells, WI; Sandusky, OH; Pocono Manor, PA; Round Rock, TX; and Spotsylvania County, VA, making the brand accessible to a diverse demographic. As a family-owned business, Kalahari Resorts operates under a central Promise: Lead with Love. This guiding principle embodies deep care and respect not only for guests but also for associates and the broader community. It reflects the company’s values of treating people like family, giving back generously, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere where everyone feels valued and appreciated. Through a notable partnership with charity: water, Kalahari is committed to bringing clean water to one million people in Africa, emphasizing their dedication to social responsibility and global impact.
The role of Houseperson in Housekeeping at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is an essential position dedicated to supporting the overall cleanliness and maintenance of guest areas. As a Houseperson, you will be responsible for ensuring that guest corridors, elevators, accommodations, and other assigned spaces are pristine and inviting. This role is not only about physical maintenance but is a key contributor to delivering the Kalahari promise of extraordinary guest experiences. You will assist room attendants by providing support such as stripping beds, running linens, and helping clean rooms when needed. Delivering requested items like luggage carts, irons, coffee, or other special guest needs is also part of the daily duties, helping to ensure guest satisfaction and seamless service.
Housepersons are expected to patrol assigned floors at the beginning and end of shifts to remove trash, newspapers, trays, and ash urns, as well as identify areas that require immediate attention. Daily checklist duties include cleaning high-traffic areas like elevator lobbies, furniture, glass tables, ice machines, and stairwells to maintain a polished and welcoming environment. This position requires individuals who are reliable, detail-oriented, and take pride in their work. A positive attitude and service-focused personality are vital to thrive in this role. Flexibility is critical, as hours may include weekends and holidays to ensure continuous high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
Working at Kalahari is not just a job; it is joining a team that values growth, innovation, and leadership. The company fosters career advancement with opportunities for promotion from within, coupled with comprehensive benefits for full-time associates, including health, dental, and vision coverage. Additional perks like 401(k) matching, paid time off, holiday compensation, employee appreciation events, and education assistance programs demonstrate a strong commitment to employee well-being and professional development. Recognized by Forbes as one of America’s Best Midsize Employers and America’s Best Employers for Women, and ranked by USA TODAY as the #1 Best Indoor Water Park, Kalahari Resorts provides a workplace culture that encourages leadership driven by love and trust. Each day at Kalahari brings fresh opportunities to create meaningful moments and make a lasting impact through guest service excellence and teamwork. If you aspire to be part of something extraordinary, delivering stellar experiences in a supportive environment, the Houseperson position at Kalahari Resorts is a perfect career choice.
