The Housekeeping/Laundry Team role at MCHG is a vital position responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order within the hotel’s public and back-of-house areas. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, physically fit, and capable of working independently while managing time effectively. Responsibilities include cleaning shared spaces such as lobbies, hallways, elevators, restrooms, and outdoor entry points through sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing floors, vacuuming carpets, and polishing various surfaces. Additionally, maintaining windows, mirrors, glass doors, and disinfecting high-touch areas is essential for ensuring guest safety and comfort. This role also involves supporting guest needs by delivering requested items promptly and courteously, assisting with room attendant duties during peak periods, and handling linen and supplies logistics. Job Requirements
- Ability to lift 20-50 lbs depending on property needs (e.g. linen bags equipment)
- Stamina to stand walk bend push and pull for an entire shift
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
- Comfortable operating cleaning equipment (vacuums carpet machines carts)
- Flexible schedule including weekends nights and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is a plus but not required
- Ability to work independently with good time management
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Good physical stamina and ability to handle housekeeping equipment
- Ability to deliver excellent customer service and interact courteously with guests
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including nights weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Clean and maintain public areas such as lobbies hallways elevators stairwells restrooms and outdoor entry areas
- Sweep mop scrub wax and polish floors vacuum carpets and upholstery
- Clean windows mirrors glass doors and disinfect high-touch surfaces
- Maintain back-of-house areas such as storage rooms laundry spaces and service corridors
- Deliver guest-requested items such as cribs rollaways extra pillows and towels
- Provide friendly guest-focused service and respond promptly to requests
- Transport clean linen from laundry to floor closets collect soiled linen and deliver to laundry
- Restock room attendant carts with towels linens amenities and cleaning supplies
- Identify and report maintenance issues or safety hazards in public areas or guest rooms
- Follow all hotel cleaning SOPs and safety protocols
- Ensure hallways remain clear of trash linens and obstacles
