The Houseperson - Events position at Hyatt is critical to ensuring the seamless execution of events by providing behind-the-scenes support that keeps banquet operations running smoothly. This role involves setting up and breaking down banquet rooms in alignment with event orders, including arranging tables, chairs, staging, linens, and decorative elements in a professional and aesthetically pleasing manner. The houseperson ensures cleanliness and organization of all event spaces, storage areas, and equipment, contributing to an efficient and polished atmosphere that enhances the overall guest experience.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to lift move and transport equipment often 50+ lbs throughout the shift
  • Comfort working on your feet for extended periods
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules including early mornings late evenings weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Previous banquet event or hospitality experience is a plus but not required

Job Duties

  • Set up and break down banquet rooms according to event orders including tables chairs staging linens and decor
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all banquet spaces storage areas and equipment
  • Assist banquet servers and supervisors with room resets service needs and event flow
  • Ensure all equipment is handled safely and properly stored
  • Respond quickly and professionally to guest and team requests
  • Support the banquet team in creating a welcoming polished and efficient environment for every event
