The Houseperson position at Club Wyndham Canterbury Resort is a full-time role within the Housekeeping department responsible for supporting the housekeeping team to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction throughout the resort. This role plays a vital part in preparing guest units for cleaning after departure in an efficient and timely manner while adhering to company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards. Key responsibilities include managing linen duties, organizing and maintaining the cleanliness of departmental storage areas, and ensuring the readiness of all units for incoming guests. The Houseperson provides essential assistance by delivering supplies such as linens, paper products, and unit amenities to housekeeping staff, helping strip and make beds, and carrying out light cleaning duties as needed. The role also involves removing trash from units and public spaces and coordinating the assembly of linen and amenities bags.
Moreover, the Houseperson must comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and adhere to the Global Harmonized System (GHS) regulations related to chemical safety. Job Duties
- prepare units for cleaning upon guest departure
- handle linen duties including receiving, sorting, and folding soiled linens
- organize, clean, and maintain department storage areas
- deliver linens, paper products, and unit amenities to housekeeping staff
- assist with stripping and making beds
- assist with general cleaning tasks as needed
- remove trash from units and floors
- coordinate and create linen and amenities bags
- deliver requested items to guest units such as irons, coffee, and kitchen utensils
