Job Description
Our establishment is a reputable hotel dedicated to providing a superior guest experience through meticulous attention to cleanliness and comfort. Recognizing the importance of a pristine environment, we prioritize maintaining spotless public areas that contribute to an inviting and relaxing atmosphere for all visitors. Our valued team members collaborate closely to uphold brand standards and ensure every guest feels welcomed and valued during their stay. We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Houseperson to join our housekeeping team on-site. This position is non-exempt, with work scheduled primarily on weekends from 9am to 5pm, allowing for a balanced work-life integration while contributing to the smooth operation of our property.
The role of the Houseperson is crucial in upholding the cleanliness and appeal of all public spaces within the hotel. You will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the lobby, hallways, corridors, stairwells, elevators, and other shared spaces with a keen eye for detail. Beyond routine cleaning, responsibilities extend to restocking public restrooms, managing trash removal from both indoor and outdoor areas including parking lots and patios, and caring for furniture and décor by dusting and reporting any damages. Your duties will also involve cleaning windows, light fixtures, and other surfaces that enhance the aesthetic environment for guests.
In addition to cleaning tasks, the Houseperson manages key control according to hotel policies, supports setting up and maintaining decorative elements such as furniture and plants, and oversees the upkeep of specialized areas like laundry rooms, exercise facilities, and pool areas when applicable. This role demands physical stamina and organizational skills to handle multiple duties efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Houseperson also plays a vital role in ensuring compliance with safety standards, maintaining a safe and attractive setting for both guests and staff.
Success in this role requires a dedicated individual who can independently manage tasks, adapt to various responsibilities, and communicate effectively with housekeeping supervisors and other departments to foster teamwork and operational excellence. While prior experience in housekeeping or related cleaning roles is preferred, it is not mandatory, as we value a strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Knowledge of cleaning equipment and products will support your ability to perform duties effectively.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 pounds
- Capability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions
- Willingness to work on-site at hotel property
- Availability to work weekends including Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 5pm
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Compliance with safety and hotel policies
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment and products
- Strong organizational skills to manage tasks and prioritize work
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Good physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting and bending
Job Duties
- Clean and maintain public areas including lobby, hallways, stairwells, elevators, and corridors
- Regularly clean and restock public restrooms
- Collect and dispose of trash and debris from indoor and outdoor spaces
- Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, and decorations, reporting damages
- Clean windows, windowsills, light fixtures, and other surfaces
- Responsible for assigned keys following hotel key control policies
- Assist in setting up and maintaining furniture and decorative elements
- Clean guest laundry room, exercise area, and associated equipment
- Maintain pool area including cleaning pool bathroom and furniture
- Restock bathroom supplies and towels
- Ensure compliance with safety and cleanliness standards
- Support housekeeping team and other departments as needed
- Participate in department meetings and maintain communication
