With nearly a century of hospitality excellence, The Heathman Hotel seamlessly blends classic elegance with modern comforts to offer guests an unmatched experience reflective of the city’s rich heritage and dynamic present. As part of the esteemed Makeready collection, The Heathman is deeply committed to providing an inclusive environment that prioritizes the health, happiness, and well-being of its team members and guests alike. This commitment is showcased through a variety of thoughtful benefits and a strong team-oriented culture that fosters success through individual contributions and collaboration.
The role of the Houseperson at The Heathman Hotel is pivotal within the housekeeping department. This position acts as the silent hero behind the scenes, ensuring that the hotel environment is impeccably maintained and prepared for both the department and guests. The Houseperson takes great pride in their work, seeing their role as essential to the smooth operation of daily housekeeping activities. Typical duties for this role include removing trash and linens from guest rooms in accordance with hotel standards, maintaining cleanliness and organization of corridors, stairwells, linen closets, and guest amenity areas such as hydration stations. Additionally, the Houseperson is responsible for deep cleaning specific areas of the property, including shampooing rooms and elevators, and keeping the public areas such as lobbies and restrooms pristine.
Equally important to the physical tasks are the interpersonal skills required for this role. The Houseperson must greet guests warmly and professionally, uphold a guest-first and team-first attitude, and actively contribute to maintaining a positive and cooperative team spirit. This position requires attention to detail, approachability, and a commitment to upholding The Heathman Hotel's guiding principles which emphasize mutual respect, dedication to quality, and exceptional service. The employment at The Heathman Hotel is full-time, and the company offers a competitive compensation package along with a host of employee benefits. These include accommodating paid time off, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, maternity and paternity leave, pet insurance, a company-matched dependent care and 401(k) plan, and a student loan repayment program.
