Job Description
Gaylord Hotels, a distinguished part of Marriott International, stands as a beacon of excellence in the hospitality industry. Renowned for its grandiose and immersive hotel environments, Gaylord Hotels offers guests unparalleled experiences that blend comfort, luxury, and memorable service all under one roof. With a firm commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity, the company fosters a workplace culture that celebrates different backgrounds, talents, and perspectives, ensuring that every associate feels welcomed and valued. Situated in Chula Vista, California, at 1000 H St, this full-time opportunity is rooted in a dynamic hotel environment that excels not just in service but in creating moments that guests remember forever. Marriott International, through the Gaylord brand, leads the industry by offering not only traditional hospitality services but also a variety of unique experiences, specializing in meetings and events that connect people in extraordinary ways.
The role in question is that of a Guest Environment Specialist, an integral position within the Housekeeping and Laundry division. This non-management role is tailored for individuals who are passionate about maintaining a clean, welcoming, and well-ordered hotel environment. Working full-time at an hourly wage of $25.00, the Guest Environment Specialist is entrusted with responsibilities that transcend simple room cleaning. It is about crafting a unique and lasting impression for each guest by ensuring their surroundings are spotless, comfortable, and cared for. This doesn’t merely involve tidying guest rooms but also includes maintaining common areas, attending to guest requests, restocking cleaning carts, and managing various other tasks that contribute to the overall ambiance of the hotel.
This position demands a proactive, empowered individual comfortable with being on their feet for extended periods, moving throughout the hotel premises, and handling physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, and carrying objects up to 50 pounds. The Guest Environment Specialist is expected to uphold the highest standards of safety, confidentiality, and professionalism, including adhering strictly to company policies, maintaining a neat personal appearance, and communicating courteously. The essential nature of this role lies in its contribution to guest satisfaction and operational excellence. The successful candidate will play a critical part in making the hotel function seamlessly while ensuring every guest’s experience is positive and memorable.
Being part of Gaylord Hotels means joining a team of dedicated, creative, and driven individuals, known as STARs, who embody the brand’s spirit by delivering thoughtful, heartfelt service every day. The company encourages growth, offering associates opportunities beyond traditional hospitality roles, infinite career possibilities, and a workplace where doing your best work is the norm. This opportunity represents not just a job, but a chance to become your best version, start fulfilling your life’s purpose, and belong to a global team committed to excellence and inclusion. Gaylord Hotels, under the Marriott International umbrella, positions itself uniquely to offer more than just employment — it offers a career path rich with experience, diversity, and meaningful engagement.
