Job Description
IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, operating a diverse portfolio of hotel brands that cater to a wide range of travelers around the world. With a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences and a culture of inclusivity and respect, IHG offers dynamic career opportunities in various departments including housekeeping, food and beverage, management, and more. The company is known for its dedication to quality service, innovation, and sustainable business practices. This particular establishment operates on a US Military Installation, offering a unique and secure setting, blending hospitality with service to the military community.
The Housekeeping Aide role at IHG is an integral part of the cleaning and maintenance team responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, organization, and general upkeep of guest corridors, floors, and various public areas within the hotel. This position supports room attendants by handling heavy items like mattresses and linens, delivering supplies, maintaining floor closets, and assisting with special cleaning projects. The role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can respond efficiently to guest requests and help maintain the overall presentation of the hotel. Effective communication and teamwork are crucial as this position works closely with other housekeeping staff and departments to promote quality service. Employees in this role must be physically capable as it involves frequent lifting, stooping, bending, and moving heavy objects.
This is a non-exempt, hourly role, classified under the Fair Labor Standards Act, with an hourly pay rate of $17.75. The company provides a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 401k plan. Because the hotel is located on a military installation, successful applicants must complete a Federal Background check to access the property and potentially renew it annually. The position may require working nights, weekends, and holidays as part of scheduling needs. IHG values applicants who bring commitment, diligence, and a positive attitude to the workplace, and encourages those who may not meet every stated requirement but are eager to learn and contribute to apply and begin their career journey with the company.
