We are now inviting applications for the role of Houseman, a vital position within our housekeeping and banquet teams. The Houseman plays an essential role in maintaining and promoting the hotel's standards of hospitality by assisting in daily operational tasks. This includes providing courteous, efficient, and friendly guest service that aligns with our brand's reputation. The role requires attention to detail and physical stamina to ensure the cleanliness and readiness of guest rooms, hallways, banquet rooms, and public spaces. Besides assisting housekeeping attendants with linen removal and cleaning tasks, the Houseman is responsible for linen stripping and ensuring that all dirty textiles are properly managed and cleaned. Responsible for delivering requested amenities promptly, this role contributes significantly to the smooth running of housekeeping functions and overall guest satisfaction.

Moreover, the Houseman supports the banquet team by setting up and striking event spaces, including moving furniture and working closely with the Banquet Captain to facilitate successful function execution. Flexibility in work hours is necessary, as shifts may vary to accommodate hotel needs, including mornings, evenings, and weekends. The position demands physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and the willingness to cross-train, enhancing skillsets across departments. Safety adherence, especially regarding chemical use, is crucial and part of the daily operational responsibility. The successful candidate will become knowledgeable about our hotel's layout, amenities, and staff, improving communication and effectively addressing guest needs and operational challenges. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory according to hotel and brand standards
  • Bilingual is a plus
  • Available to work flexible schedule including AM/PM shifts and weekends
  • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs
  • Open to cross-training and assisting in other departments as necessary

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or hospitality is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning methods and chemical safety
  • Ability to communicate courteously with guests and team members
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor and move furniture
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
  • Bilingual abilities are an advantage

Job Duties

  • Clean all corridors, service areas, meeting spaces, and main lobby areas
  • Move and arrange furniture, including flipping mattresses when necessary, removing, moving, or hanging drapes
  • Clean laundry chute of any dirty laundry
  • Provide necessary linen and amenities to guests in accordance to guest room legend
  • Greeting any and all guests i.e. Good Morning or Good Evening
  • Report any damage, hazards, repairs required in guest room and hallways
  • Abide by the regulations set forth by the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) when using chemicals
  • Return any items found in vacant guest rooms, hallways, or back of house to the housekeeping lost and found
  • Restock cart at end of shift and organize linen closet to prepare for the next day
  • Develop a thorough knowledge of hotel staff, room locations, and amenities of the hotel
  • Complete any other related task given by manager
  • Set up banquet meeting rooms
  • requires lifting and moving furniture according to direction given by sales team and banquet captain
