Job Description

We are currently seeking a Full-Time Houseman to join our Housekeeping team. This role is crucial in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of guestrooms and public spaces, ultimately contributing to the overall guest satisfaction. The Houseman will assist the Housekeeping Supervisor by collecting linen and trash from housekeeper carts, hallways, and freight landings. In addition, the Houseman will help to maintain public areas by cleaning and restocking supplies as needed. This position offers a competitive annual salary within the USD range and includes a comprehensive benefit package where benefits begin 30 days after employment. As a Houseman, you will play an integral role in the smooth operation of the housekeeping department. You will be responsible for obtaining room status reports, removing linens and trash from checked-out rooms, and assisting room attendants by stocking linen carts with necessary amenities and supplies. Your duties will also include vacuuming, sweeping, mopping hallways, stairways, vending areas, and foyers, cleaning walls and doors, and ensuring all linen closets and chutes remain locked and secure at all times. Working closely with the housekeeping team, you will ensure that all public areas remain clean and inviting throughout each shift, contributing significantly to making guests feel welcome and comfortable.
The ideal candidate for this position is someone who possesses strong teamwork skills and is able to work with minimal supervision. Good communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential since most tasks will be coordinated within the team setting. You should also be detail-oriented and capable of performing a range of physical tasks such as lifting, pushing carts, and thorough cleaning activities. Prior hotel housekeeping experience is preferred to better understand the requirements and expectations of the role, but we also welcome motivated individuals eager to learn and grow within the hospitality industry. Job Requirements
- High school education
- Prior hotel housekeeping experience preferred

Job Duties
- Obtain a room status report from the housekeeping supervisor to begin stripping the rooms that have checked out
- Begin removing linens and trash from checked out rooms before housekeeper enters the room to clean it
- Empty housekeeper’s carts of all soiled linen and trash
- Clean and remove spots/marks from walls and doors on each floor
- Vacuum, sweep and mop hallways, stairways, vending areas and foyers
- Stock linen carts with amenities and supplies for room attendants- may include taking supplies directly to room
- Make sure all closets and linen chutes are locked at all times
- Put away any housekeeping amenity and supply orders that have arrived
- Vacuum and mop stairwells, be sure to check them for trash several times during your shift
- Other duties and responsibilities as may be designated
