The role of Houseperson at Crown Hotel & Travel Management involves maintaining cleanliness and performing light maintenance of the hotel's general public areas. This position is essential in creating a welcoming and spotless environment that enhances the overall guest experience. The Houseperson is responsible for cleaning and upkeep tasks that ensure public spaces within the hotel are inviting, safe, and well-maintained. Housepersons routinely empty trash receptacles and clean ashtrays throughout corridors and public areas. They sweep stairways, landings, and outside walkways, wash windows according to a set schedule, and maintain the cleanliness of lobby floors and elevators, including tracks and stainless-steel surfaces. Additional responsibilities include spot-cleaning walls and doors, removing cobwebs, cleaning fire extinguishers, and performing vacuuming and carpet shampooing in public spaces. The role requires frequent checks and cleaning of lobby areas and public restrooms, especially during events and functions.
Successful candidates for this role will exhibit strong interpersonal skills, interacting with guests in a friendly and professional manner while maintaining a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance. Physical stamina is essential, as the role requires continuous walking and standing throughout shifts, light physical labor such as lifting (up to 25-30 pounds occasionally), bending, stretching, and stair climbing. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- ability to perform light physical labor including lifting 25-30 pounds occasionally, reaching, bending, stretching, and handling
- ability to walk and stand for an entire shift
- must be able to walk and climb/descend stairs approximately 50 percent of the time
- ability to maintain a friendly and professional demeanor
- availability to work full or part-time
- willingness to adhere to company policies and safety procedures
Job Qualifications
- Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant, friendly way
- maintaining a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance
- previous cleaning or housekeeping experience preferred
- basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and supplies

Job Duties
- Empties all trash receptacles and ashtrays in corridors and public areas
- cleans all outside area walkways
- sweeps stairways and landings
- cleans railings and washes all EXIT doors
- washes windows as per schedule
- cleans elevators, tracks, chrome, and stainless steel
- spot-cleans walls and doors
- removes cobwebs
- cleans fire extinguishers
- wipes baseboards, railings, phones, walls, and vending areas
- vacuums all public area rugs and public space corridors and shampoos carpets
- polishes/cleans lobby floor as per schedule
- checks lobby area and public restrooms frequently for cleanliness and replenishes especially when functions are being held
- cleans public restrooms
- cleans lobby
- all other duties as assigned
