The role of the driver at Tru by Hilton Laredo TX is much more than just driving; it includes assisting guests with their baggage, ensuring safety and comfort during transportation, and maintaining the cleanliness and readiness of the hotel’s vehicle fleet. The driver acts as a direct ambassador of the hotel brand, responsible for presenting a professional image, offering local area knowledge, and responding swiftly and courteously to guest requests or concerns. This position requires a high level of responsibility, attention to detail, and a customer service orientation to enhance every guest’s stay. The driver will also be involved in supporting other operational duties such as houseman and security tasks, ensuring the hotel’s premises remain safe and presentable.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Ability to assist guests with baggage handling
Knowledge of local area and directions
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to maintain a professional appearance
Willingness to perform housekeeping and security duties as needed
Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Previous experience in guest transportation or related hospitality role preferred
Good knowledge of local streets and surrounding areas
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to multitask and respond promptly to guest needs
Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
Familiarity with hotel operations and safety protocols is a plus

Job Duties

Assist incoming and outgoing guests in loading baggage into the van at the hotel, the airport, or other destinations
Transport guests to and from the airport or other guest-requested locations
Drive and park safely in accordance with hotel driving policies
Keep all necessary licenses and driving record documents in the car at all times
Ensure passengers take proper safety precautions and remain seated while driving
Report accidents and/or vehicle damage immediately to supervisor
Explain and promote hotel services, facilities, and outlets and become knowledgeable of upcoming events/functions
Keep the van's interior clean, organized, and fresh-smelling for passenger comfort
Ensure the hotel's entrance and drive-up areas are always presentable and free from trash and food
Provide guests with local directions courteously and accurately
Perform houseman and security duties
Secure and tag baggage at guest request to store baggage
Occasionally transport luggage or goods without passengers to provide guest services
Respond quickly to guest requests or complaints in a friendly manner and ensure appropriate action is taken
Provide a professional image at all times through appearance and dress
Follow company policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management
