Job Description
Eagle Valley Children's Home is a respected and caring establishment dedicated to serving children with diverse needs by providing them with a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment. As a nonprofit organization, Eagle Valley Children's Home places a strong emphasis on delivering compassionate care that promotes the well-being and development of the individuals under its supervision. With a history of commitment to community welfare and child care, the organization takes pride in its inclusive team culture, where every staff member's role is vital in contributing to the home's success and ensuring a positive impact on the lives of children and families alike.
We are currently seeking a dedicated full-time Housekeeper/Janitor to join our team at Eagle Valley Children’s Home. This position is critical in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for the children, staff, and visitors. The Housekeeper/Janitor will work 40 hours per week, from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays off. Starting pay is set at $18.06 per hour, with a 6-month introductory period followed by a scheduled raise after successful completion, reflecting our commitment to rewarding hard work and dedication.
The Housekeeper/Janitor plays an indispensable role in upholding the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety throughout the facility. Routine duties include general cleaning such as dusting, washing windows and sills, cleaning washrooms, client equipment, furniture, and housekeeping tools. The role also involves maintaining floors through sweeping, mopping, and some vacuuming, as well as emptying trash and watering plants. Laundry services form an integral part of the job, incorporating washing, drying, folding, hanging, and putting away client clothing, linens, and shirt covers. Additional tasks like weighing/charting laundry loads, ironing, and sewing as needed enhance the overall functionality and comfort of the home.
Stock management and control of cleaning supplies ensure that the Housekeeper/Janitor supports the facility’s operational efficiency. Duty adherence to the facility’s safety procedures and administrative policies is mandatory, guaranteeing a secure environment for everyone present. This position involves teamwork and collaboration, as individuals are occasionally called upon to assist with other housekeeping or facility-related tasks, contributing to the cohesive team environment.
Working with Eagle Valley Children’s Home means becoming part of a community that values respect, professionalism, and meaningful engagement with the children and families served. The role demands physical stamina, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude to maintain the facility’s welcoming atmosphere. The organization emphasizes excellent benefits and a positive work setting, offering employees the chance to make a real difference while advancing their careers in a supportive environment. This Housekeeping/Janitorial opportunity is ideal for individuals who take pride in fostering a clean and pleasant setting that promotes the health and safety of all occupants while forming part of a dedicated and caring team.
