Job Requirements

  • Successful completion of general and department specific orientation
  • Ability to work full-time evening shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Prior experience in hospital housekeeping preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to follow established cleaning procedures
  • Capacity to handle physical demands of the role

  • Previous hospital housekeeping experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Arrange furniture for meetings, workshops and community affairs
  • Assist in cleaning emergency spills observed or upon request
  • Clean housekeeping closet and maintain par levels
  • Collect and transport all waste including regulated medical waste according to policy
  • Compact trash or place in containers
  • Damp buff and shampoo carpets with approved equipment
  • Dry and wet mop floors of rooms and offices
  • Dust mop and wet mop corridors, stairwells and other common areas
  • Empty waste receptacles and remove trash
  • Maintain assigned equipment for cleanliness and report repairs needed
  • Observe and report need to repair equipment, furniture, building and fixtures
  • Perform patient discharge cleaning using 7-step cleaning procedure
  • Refill paper towels, toilet paper, soap and toilet seat dispensers
  • Ensure all patient rooms are patient ready with tent cards, toilet seat bands, and privacy curtains
