The brand emphasizes fostering team collaboration, innovation, and adherence to core values to create lasting impressions on guests across all touchpoints.
The Housekeeping Utility Runner / House Attendant role at JW Marriott plays a pivotal part in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness, organization, and operational efficiency that the brand is celebrated for. Reporting directly to the Housekeeping Supervisor and operating within the housekeeping department, this position involves working across various shifts including day, swing, and graveyard, ensuring flexibility and comprehensive coverage. This role is essential in supporting the housekeeping team by delivering supplies such as linens and cleaning materials to different floors, assisting room attendants with deep cleaning and maintenance tasks, and ensuring that all public and back-of-house areas meet the JW Marriott’s exacting standards.
In this position, the Housekeeping Utility Runner / House Attendant is expected to be proactive in responding to the dynamic needs of the housekeeping team and guests. Responsibilities include distributing clean linens, performing carpet care including vacuuming and spot cleaning, completing dusting projects, power washing outdoor spaces such as patios and balconies, and maintaining guest room furniture through various cleaning methods including steaming and extraction. The role also involves ensuring the safe and efficient operation of cleaning equipment, handling hazardous materials in compliance with OSHA and company policies, and delivering general guest assistance when required.
The physical demands of this role are significant, requiring stamina and strength to perform tasks such as lifting up to 80 pounds, prolonged standing, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling. The work environment ranges from guest rooms and common areas to back-of-house sites, with exposure to different noise levels and temperature conditions, and adherence to safety regulations especially on the casino floor where smoking is permitted under state law.
Ideal candidates will possess a High School Diploma or GED, alongside previous housekeeping experience in hotels, resorts, or similar settings. Essential skills include clear verbal communication to interact professionally with guests and colleagues, strong attention to detail, time management capabilities, and a dependable, team-oriented work ethic. Basic English proficiency is required to ensure safety and effective communication. The position also necessitates a valid Nevada Driver’s License due to the mobility requirements across various property locations. Through dedication to excellence, safety, and teamwork, the Housekeeping Utility Runner / House Attendant helps uphold the JW Marriott’s reputation for outstanding guest service and hospitality.
