The Environmental Services Technician at Four Peaks Medical Center is a full-time, evening shift role (2:30 pm to 11:00 pm) integral to maintaining the hospital's cleanliness and safety standards. This role involves performing a variety of heavy cleaning tasks in patient rooms, offices, hallways, and other assigned areas. The technician is responsible for following rigorous cleaning protocols to uphold quality and safety standards, ensuring a hygienic environment that supports patient care. The position requires operating floor care equipment, performing floor refinishing, handling waste disposal, and preparing linen and scrub supplies for various hospital departments.

Environmental Services Technicians are essential in supporting the facility's infection control efforts. They also participate in patient safety rounding, monitoring patients for distress and alerting nursing staff when clinical intervention may be necessary. This role demands flexibility and reliability, as the positions are full-time with shifts based on business needs. Candidates for this position should have at least a high school diploma or GED (preferred), and 12 to 24 months of related experience is preferred. Additionally, for those required to drive HonorHealth vehicles, a valid Arizona Driver’s License, a clean driving record, and the ability to complete the organization's Defensive Driving Course are mandatory. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 12 to 24 months experience in environmental services or related field preferred
  • valid Arizona driver’s license for positions requiring driving

  • ability to complete Defensive Driving Course
  • must be at least 21 years of age for driving roles
  • ability to perform physically demanding cleaning tasks
  • willingness to work evening shifts and flexible hours based on business needs

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Perform heavy cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms offices hallways and other assigned hospital areas
  • operate floor care equipment and perform floor refinishing following established protocols
  • gather and dispose of trash and waste materials appropriately
  • place linen on distribution carts and fold stage scrub sets for stocking
  • stock nursing unit supply closets and housekeeping carts with supplies chemicals and mops
  • inspect cleaning equipment and perform scheduled preventative maintenance
  • participate in patient safety rounding monitoring patients for signs of distress and alert nursing personnel when intervention is required
  • maintain hard surface and soft surface floors according to organizational standards using correct cleaning processes
  • clean sanitize and make beds on transfers and discharges
  • transport regular waste medical waste and linen to designated collection sites while maintaining clean soiled utility rooms and waste carts
  • wear personal protection equipment during all cleaning and waste transport duties
